Salvia oxyphora

Posted on August 13, 2019January 10, 2020by Angharad

Recently asked what is your favourite Salvia I found myself stumped. There are just so many different species and they are very few that I don’t appreciate in one way or another. Saying that in the top 10 this year has to be Salvia oxyphora. Its the first time I have grown it, its not nearly […]

Posted on May 28, 2019May 28, 2019by Angharad

Yup. I am super excited as we have new leaves coming on one of the cuttings. Firstly as a quick update all of the cuttings are still alive a week and a half on. Always a good start. Everything looks healthy and looks as though its still getting water. There are some very tiny hairs […]

Limonium platyphyllum

Posted on August 12, 2018August 12, 2018by Angharad

This has been a favourite of mine ever since I first saw it at The Homestead, owned by Mary and Stan Pike. It took me a little while to hunt down its name, which had been forgotten, and then to find a supplier. Finally last year I managed to acquire my own plant and set […]

About me

About Me

My name is Angharad and have been gardening in one way or another for as long as I can remember. I am happiest when out in the fresh air, pulling up groundsel before the blighter flowers, seeds and germinates behind my back and pondering where on earth I am going to squeeze in the most recent Salvia acquisition.

I hunted a long time for the perennial varieties. Candollei has yet to flower but it's been attacked by things and swamped by other plants in its first two years..it got moved to this spot at the beginning of this year and seems much happier.
