The Salvias

Posted on June 6, 2020June 6, 2020by Angharad

Last year I took a number of cuttings of native californian salvias from the National Collection Holders. These all grew on nicely and I have now started to put them out in the garden to see how they will cope with my conditions. I hope to have some of these available to purchase soon. The […]

Posted on August 1, 2019August 11, 2019by Angharad

An update on the Californian salvia cuttings; I took cuttings from the following salvias, S. mellifera S. clevelandii S. apiana S. leucophylla S. brandegei S. caespitosa I now have at least one plant of everything bar the Salvia caespitosa which unfortunately I lost. Salvia ‘Black and Blue’ – I think….

Posted on May 28, 2019by Angharad

About me

About Me

My name is Angharad and have been gardening in one way or another for as long as I can remember. I am happiest when out in the fresh air, pulling up groundsel before the blighter flowers, seeds and germinates behind my back and pondering where on earth I am going to squeeze in the most recent Salvia acquisition.

I hunted a long time for the perennial varieties. Candollei has yet to flower but it's been attacked by things and swamped by other plants in its first two years..it got moved to this spot at the beginning of this year and seems much happier.
