A few pictures from a project I am working on in Havant. The garden is sloped and south facing. It is difficult to maintain and keep tidy given the slope, it bakes dry in the summer and can be wet in the winter.
The brief was to create a space that can be enjoyed, provides some privacy for the owners in the form of planting, is easy to maintain, and no lawn!
The plan/design is somewhat fluid as there are a number of constraints; budget, cost/ease of removing waste from the garden; the drainage cover and the levels. Essentially the idea is to terrace the garden, providing areas for planting that can be covered with a gravel mulch, provide a path/route round the garden so it can be walked around, and hide the drain cover (whilst still allowing access).
